When the textile millionaires Stephen & Virginia Courtauld built their 1930s mansion adjoining the Medieval Great Hall of Eltham Palace, once the childhood home of Henry V111, they created an art deco masterpiece that to this day captures the glamour and allure of the period. A visit to Eltham Palace will sweep us into theg glamorous lifestyle of 1930s high society – a world of tennis and croquet and cocktails on the terrace.

We will spend a very entertaining morning travelling from the Tudors to the Twenties. After an introduction by a Blue Badge Tour Guide we will enjoy a tour of the house and some time to browse as an invited guest in the 1930s. We will be ablet o walk into Ginie’s wardrobe and try on her hats and breath in her perfume. We will take a peek in the golden tiled bathroom and experience the glitz

We will make an early start from Hythe Hall (8 am) and travel by coach to Eltham Palace where we will be met by our tour guide. coffee at Eltham will follow the tour and then we will transfer to Greenwich for Lunch at Greenwich (at own expense) then  embark on a riverboat upstream to Westminster where we will rejoin our coach.
